Got game? A review of strategy games Online

Online strategy games reference this genre of games that can be played online, and where players are put into a position where their decision-making skills are put to the test. The outcome of the game is influenced by the decisions the player makes along the way. In fact, some more sophisticated ones have several side stories and terminations, which requires players to return to previous levels if they want to explore and finish all the missions.

Today, however, it became difficult to delineate the real-time strategy game genre from another, like many other genres of games also contain strategic elements. But the defining characteristic of these games is that there is only a small amount of luck or chance involved. Neither are special skills or relevant knowledge. All players in the strategy games have the same set of skills and knowledge. They just need to be sharper than the next player in order to make the right decisions in their interactions with other players and win the game to end.

Conversely, chance-based games rely on statistics and probability of their outcome. But if you look at the mechanics of the games, have a balance between opportunity and skill, even if those games more lean towards skills more possibilities. They involve complex skills of planning and forecasting.

Online strategy games are also called massively multiplayer online games (MMOGS) because they serve as an online platform where a large number of players can play from anywhere in the world. This allows real-time interaction between players through their avatars, or their game characters.

There are several sub-genres of games in real time. One of these is the abstract strategy game, which usually have no connection to reality, hence the name. The object of abstract games is usually to solve the puzzles using logic and strategy. Examples of these are sequence, Backgammon, Octiles, Stratego and Mentalis.

Another subgenre is the simulation strategy game. This type covers those games that are based on reality to some extent, and that attempts to imitate real conflicts, problems, situations and activities. The object of the game is to pick a character, exploring the world within the game, discover the consequences of every decision and action, you make as you work to complete your task. Examples of these games are Abalone and the classic Lemonade Tycoon.

Finally, another popular sub-genre involves those strategy and tactical military war games. These games mimic military conflicts, battles, ambushes or entire campaigns. They are also mainly based on simulation, but there is a lot of strategic thinking involved. The first versions of war strategy games have been limited to thumbnails that the player controlled through models of terrain and against other thumbnails from their allies or enemies. But now the newer games give players the opportunity to play the game using the first-person perspective. Some of the most popular online games free strategy under this subgenre are territory war, age of war and the fall of Rome.
